    EPLN Sports & Events Calendar | Week of Feb. 6

    Monday, Feb. 6

    No events are scheduled.

    Tuesday, Feb. 7

    A big week for Eagles sports and events kicks off on Tuesday with the girls gymnastics team hosting Minneapolis Southwest for a varsity scrimmage in the EPHS small gym room 233. Competition begins at 5 p.m. 

    Coming off wins over Edina and Minnetonka last week, the sixth-ranked Eden Prairie girls basketball team hosts No. 1-ranked Hopkins in the main gymnasium at EPHS. Tip-off is 7 p.m. 

    Girls basketball 9A, 1o and JV teams will also square off with Hopkins at Eden Prairie.

    The Eagles boys basketball team travels to Hopkins to take on the 10th-ranked Royals. Opening tip is at 7 p.m.

    The Eden Prairie boys will join the varsity team with games against the Royals in Hopkins.

    Wednesday, Feb. 8

    The Eden Prairie wrestling team will compete in a JV conference meet with multiple schools at the Edina High School Activity Center. The first bout is slated for 5 p.m.

    The Eagles girls JV hockey team takes the ice at St. Louis Park Recreation Center to play in a multiple school competition. Puck drop is at 5:15 p.m.

    The Eden Prairie boys swimming and diving team travels to St. Michael-Albertville on Thursday. Their meet with the Knights starts at 5:30 p.m.

    Thursday, Feb. 9

    Thursday begins with the Eden Prairie Drama Club presenting CMS Drama Performances at the CMS Performing Arts Center at Central Middle School. The event begins at 4 p.m.

    The fourth-ranked Eagles wrestling team hosts a varsity and JV triangular meet with Edina and Orono in the main gym at Eden Prairie High School. Weigh-ins begin at 4 p.m., with the first bout at 5 p.m.

    The wrestlers will also take on Edina in a dual meet starting at 6 p.m.

    The Eden Prairie boys swimming and diving team will travel to St. Michael-Albertville for a meet with the Knights at the STMA Middle School East pool. The first event starts at 5:30 p.m.

    Coming off a win on Saturday over Benilde-St. Margaret’s, the Eden Prairie boys hockey team will try for their third win in a row when they host St. Michael-Albertville at the Eden Prairie Community Center. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.

    The boys JV hockey team will also play STMA at EPCC, with the opening faceoff set for 5 p.m.

    Friday, Feb. 10

    Friday kicks off with the Eden Prairie girls and boys JV Alpine ski teams competing in a multiple school meet at Buck Hill Ski Area in Burnsville. The racing begins at 4 p.m.

    The EPHS Drama Club’s CMS Drama Performances continue in the CMS Performing Arts Center at Central Middle School. The event begins at 4 p.m. and concludes at 10 p.m.

    It’s senior night for the Eagles girls basketball team. They will host Buffalo in the main gym at Eden Prairie High School. Opening tip is at 7 p.m.

    The Eden Prairie JV girls basketball game with Buffalo was canceled, but the Girls 10 game will be played at 5:30 p.m. at EPHS.

    The Eagles boys basketball team travels to Buffalo to take on the Bison in the main gym at Buffalo High School. Opening tip is at 7 p.m.

    The Eden Prairie boys 9A, 10, 9B and JV teams will also play in Buffalo before the varsity game.

    Coming off their dramatic overtime win on Friday over Holy Angels, the  Eagles girls hockey team enters the Class 2A, Section 2 playoffs as the 5th seed. They will take on 4th seed Prior Lake at Dakotah Arena. Opening faceoff is at 7 p.m.

    The Drama Club presents CMS Drama Performances in the CMS Performing Arts Center at Central Middle School from Thursday through Saturday.

    Saturday, Feb. 11

    Saturday opens with the Eden Prairie Drama Club continuing their CMS Drama Performances at the CMS Performing Arts Center at Central Middle School. The event begins at 4 p.m.

    The Eden Prairie boys hockey team will host No. 3 ranked Wayzata at Eden Prairie Community Center. Puck drop is at 7:15 p.m. 

    The Eagles boys JV hockey team will take on Wayzata at 5 p.m. at EPCC.

    The EPHS girls hockey team enters the Section 2 playoffs as the No. 5 seed and will play 4th seed Prior Lake at Dakotah Arena on Friday at 7 p.m. Photo by Rick Olson
