Local teen to headline July 4 music

Steve ScheweBy Steve ScheweJuly 3, 2021Updated:July 4, 20212 Mins Read

Eden Prairie native Allie McIntosh will headline the 4th of July celebration at Round Lake Park on Sunday at 7:15 pm.  McIntosh, 15, combines training in classical music – she plays the violin, viola, and piano – with a knack for writing and performing pop tunes.

McIntosh debuted an album of her music last September.  It’s called Purgatory Road, after the street she lives on in southeastern Eden Prairie.

“I really like Eden Prairie,” says McIntosh.  “The people here have supported me as I’ve grown up.  I’m close with two girls who live in my neighborhood, and they’ve made a difference to me.”

In anticipation of further development of her music career, McIntosh will be switching from The Breck School to Eden Prairie High’s online education track this fall.

A mix of classical and pop

McIntosh will sing the national anthem and an original song at the outdoor concert on Saturday night July 3rd in the Staring Lake Park Amphitheatre.  That program begins at 7:00 pm.

Sunday evening at Round Lake Park, McIntosh will open the festivities with a selection of her original pop songs at 7:15 pm.

She’ll also perform a medley of classical pieces for the violin and piano.  McIntosh’s web site includes a video featuring her singing which aired on Twin Cities PBS last month.
