Hard right turn ahead: Street signs flattened in Fairfield neighborhood

    By Brad CanhamJuly 1, 2021Updated:July 1, 20211 Min Read

On Friday, June 25, two separate residential intersections in the Fairfield neighborhood of Eden Prairie suffered damage to street signs as a result of a vehicle cutting the corner.

On Friday June 25, the steel street sign at Hanover Lane and Shephard Way was bent over and mailboxes scattered and crushed.

On the southeast corner of Hanover Lane a vehicle went over the curb into a yard and flattened the street sign and clipped a mailbox post, smashing one metal mailbox flat.

There were reports in the residential neighborhood that a large semitrailer-type vehicle had proceeded through the intersection at the time of the incident.

Approximately one block away on the southeast intersection of Scenic Heights Road and Braxton Drive a street sign and a road light were flattened.

The Eden Prairie police department received numerous reports of the smashed signs and are investigating.
