Dr. Stacie Stanley, Eden Prairie Schools’ current associate superintendent of academics and innovation, has been selected superintendent of schools for Edina schools. Stanley was elected by a unanimous vote May 5 at the Edina school board meeting.
“(Dr. Stanley) has been a champion for realizing Eden Prairie Schools’ mission over the past three years,” an Eden Prairie Schools Parent Post said May 6. “Please join us in wishing Dr. Stanley all the best as Edina Public Schools superintendent.”
The post said that a search process for a new associated superintendent will begin immediately. Stanley will begin her duties in Edina on July 1.
Previously, Stanley worked in the Burnsville-Eagan-Savage school district for four years as director of equity and integrated support services, and then as director of curriculum, assessment, instruction and support services.
She started as a teacher in the East Metro Integration District for six years and she was a principal in Roseville for six years.
Stanley holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the College of St. Catherine and a doctorate of education from Bethel University.
Stanley was one of three final candidates, including an Edina middle school principal and an assistant superintendent from Houston, TX. The board conducted final interviews with each candidate earlier this week.
Stanley will replace current superintendent John Schultz, who retires at the end of this school year.
