Rep. Kotyza-Witthuhn shows up for the community

Letter to EditorBy Letter to EditorSeptember 25, 2024Updated:September 27, 20242 Mins Read

I am writing today in response to the recent letter to the editor regarding state Rep. Carlie Kotyza-Witthuhn’s visibility in the community. While the author may perceive a lack of presence, I believe it’s vital to highlight the meaningful ways I have seen our representative engage with constituents and her dedication to our community.

Over the past few years, I have had the opportunity to spend time working alongside our Rep. Kotyza-Witthuhn through school functions, EHSI PTO events, and Girl Scouts. Carlie has also welcomed guests to our city by inviting the Spanish Education Fund to tour the Capitol. She has also engaged in more personal ways, such as hosting international interns with her family and cheering on her kids in multiple local sports including basketball and swim team. I’ve seen her commitment firsthand. Carlie prioritizes connecting with constituents, having hosted over 10 town halls and making herself available for one-on-one conversations both at the Capitol and here in Eden Prairie.

It’s crucial to have leaders like Carlie at the Capitol – active and loving parents, kind, supportive neighbors, and dedicated public servants. Her track record speaks for itself, having passed more than 15 bipartisan bills in a divided Legislature and bringing home historic levels of funding for our Eden Prairie Schools speaks to her ability to collaborate and serve our community effectively.

Let’s continue to support our leaders who genuinely care, show up, and work hard for us, in both personal and official capacities. Engaging with them and staying informed is a two-way process, and doing our part to seek out our representative year-round will help us build a stronger, more connected community.
