The Hennepin County Medical Examiner on Friday released the cause of death for an 80-year-old man who was struck by a vehicle in Eden Prairie last month.

John Thomas Nordeen, of Eden Prairie, died from multiple blunt force injuries, according to the Medical Examiner’s report.

The manner of death was ruled an accident.

Nordeen was struck by an eastbound vehicle at 7:08 a.m. March 20 while “walking against traffic” in the crosswalk on Highway 5 near Eden Prairie Road, according to the State Patrol. The eastbound Highway 5 traffic had a green light at the time of the incident.
