    EPLN subscribers: You’ve been deputized

Staff ReportsBy Staff ReportsMarch 10, 2023Updated:March 10, 20232 Mins Read
EPLN is holding a two-week contest to increase the number of subscribers to its free email newsletters. Gift cards are prizes, and the contest starts March 15.

Get your neighbors and friends to subscribe to Eden Prairie Local News’ email newsletter, and you might win $100.

Without more people signing up for its free newsletters, the nonprofit news organization won’t grow. So, EPLN has decided to hold a two-week contest, hoping current subscribers will tap their networks and recruit new readers.

The three people who recruit the most new email newsletter subscribers during the March 15-31 contest will win the top prizes: first place is a $100 Visa gift card; second place is a $50 gift card, and third place is a $25 gift card.

There’s no cost to subscribe to either the daily version or weekly version of the EPLN email newsletter, which contain links to current articles on the website. At the moment, 2,600 people subscribe to the newsletters, but EPLN is looking to increase that number.

“The best people to encourage new subscribers are our current readers,” said EPLN CEO/Publisher Steve Schewe. “By running a contest using gift cards as rewards, people will have an incentive to contact friends and relatives and have a little fun, too.”

    Want more information?

    • Details on how to participate will be outlined in the daily email newsletter on Wednesday, March 15, and in the weekly email newsletter on Friday, March 17. Remember, the contest starts March 15.
    • Not currently a newsletter subscriber? If you want to compete in the contest, subscribe before March 15 on the newsletter sign-up page.

Rules governing the contest are on the EPLN website.
