HOW TO PARTICIPATE:
Commencing March 15 to March 31, 2023, current subscribers of Eden Prairie Local News (EPLN) are eligible to participate in the EPLN Subscription Referral Contest. Contest promotions and instructions will be provided directly to existing EPLN Subscribers through daily and weekly newsletters.
ELIGIBILITY:
Contest is open to all current subscribers of Eden Prairie Local News. Eden Prairie Local News employees, volunteers, and board of directors (collectively the “Employees”), as well as members of an Employees’ immediate family and/or those living in the same household of Employees are ineligible to participate in the EPLN Subscription Referral Contest. Participants must be 18 years of age or older.
THE PRIZE AND APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUE:
– First Place Prize: One (1) $100 VISA Gift Card
– Second Place Prize: One (1) $50 VISA Gift Card
– Third Place Prize: One (1) $25 VISA Gift Card
Prize must be accepted as awarded and is not transferable or convertible to cash.
WINNER SELECTION:
Winners will be determined at the end of this contest by selecting the top three participants with the most referred subscribers. Subscribers must be confirmed as of April 7th. No minimum number of referrals is required. Winners will be announced and notified by email Monday April 10th at 12PM. The same notification will indicate if there is a tie between participants. In the event of a tie a drawing will be held between the tied participants Monday April 10th at Smith Coffee at 5pm. The tie-breaker drawing will be conducted and officiated by EPLN. Tied participants are encouraged to be present if possible.
GENERAL CONDITIONS:
By entering the contest, participants agree to comply with these official contest rules and agree to the publication, reproduction, and/or other use of his/her name, voice, statements about the contest, and/or personal photograph or other likeness without further compensation, in any publicity or advertising carried out by the Sponsor in any manner whatsoever, including print, broadcast, or digital.
Any attempt to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of this contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. The Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or suspend this contest in the event of any accident, printing, administrative, or other error of any kind without prior notice or obligation.
By entering this contest, each entrant expressly consents to the Sponsor, its agents and/or representatives, storing, sharing, and using the personal information submitted with his/her entry only for the purpose of administering the contest and in accordance with Sponsor’s Privacy Policy found at www.eplocalnews.org, unless the entrant otherwise agrees.
SPONSORSHIP:
The contest sponsor is Eden Prairie Local News (“Sponsor”), located at PO Box 44242 Eden Prairie, MN 55344.
AGREEMENT TO RULES:
By entering this contest, the participant (“You”) agrees to abide by the Sponsor’s Official Rules and decisions, which are fully and unconditionally binding in all respects. The Sponsor reserves the right to refuse, withdraw, or disqualify any entry at any time at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. By entering this contest, You represent and warrant that You are eligible to participate based on eligibility requirements explained in the Official Rules. You also agree to accept the decisions of the Sponsor as final and binding as it relates to the content of this EPLN Subscription Referral Contest.
TERMS & CONDITIONS:
In its sole discretion, the Sponsor reserves the right to modify, suspend, cancel, or terminate the EPLN Subscription Referral Contest should non-authorized human intervention, a bug or virus, fraud, or other causes beyond the Sponsor’s control, impact or corrupt the security, fairness, proper conduct, or administration of the EPLN Subscription Referral Contest. The Sponsor, in the event of any of the above issues, may determine the Winner based on all eligible entries received prior to and/or after (if appropriate) the action taken by the Sponsor. Individuals who tamper with or attempt to tamper with the operation or entry process of the sweepstakes or website or violate these Terms & Conditions will be disqualified by the Sponsor in its sole discretion. In its sole discretion, the Sponsor has the right to maintain the integrity of the EPLN Subscription Referral Contest to void votes for any reason.
Attempts by any entrant to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of the EPLN Subscription Referral Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil laws. If any such attempt is made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages to the fullest extent permitted by law.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY:
Your entry into this contest constitutes Your agreement to release and hold harmless the Sponsor and representatives, agents, assigns, directors, employees, and officers against and from any and all claims, liability, illness, injury, death, litigation, loss, or damages that may occur, directly or indirectly from participation in the Contest and/or the 1) Winner accepting, possessing, using, or misusing of any awarded prize or any portion thereof; 2) any type of technical failure; 3) the unavailability or inaccessibility of any transmissions, phone, or Internet service; 4) unauthorized intervention in any part of the entry process or the Promotion; 5) electronic error or human error in the Promotion administration or the processing of entries.
DISPUTES
THIS CONTEST IS GOVERNED BY THE LAWS OF THE UNITED STATES AND THE STATE OF MINNESOTA, WITHOUT RESPECT TO CONFLICT OF LAW DOCTRINES. The Entrant agrees, as a condition of participating in this Contest, that if any disputes cannot be resolved between the Entrant and the Sponsor, and if causes of action arise out of or are connected with this Contest they shall be individually resolved exclusively before a court located in Minnesota having jurisdiction, without resorting to any form of class action. Under no circumstances in any such dispute shall the participant be permitted to obtain awards for, and hereby waives all rights to, punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, including reasonable attorney’s fees, other than participant’s actual out-of-pocket expenses (i.e. costs associated with entering this contest). The participant waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.
