    EPLN Sports Calendar | Week of Jan. 23

    The Eagles girls hockey team travels to Proctor/Hermantown on Thursday and hosts Wayzata on Saturday.

    Monday, Jan. 23

    No events are scheduled.

    Tuesday, Jan. 24

    The sports week starts on Tuesday when the Eagles boys and girls Alpine ski teams head to Buck Hill in Burnsville for a multiple-school meet. Racing begins at 4 p.m.

    The Eden Prairie girls gymnastics team travels to St. Michael-Albertville for dual competition. The meet, which takes place at the STMA Middle School East gymnastics room, begins at 6 p.m.

    Coming off an action-packed week, in which they went 3-1 in four games, the girls basketball team has another challenge. The Eagles travel to Wayzata to take on the fourth-ranked Trojans. Opening tip is 7 p.m.

    After a dramatic buzzer-beating shot to beat Prior Lake last Wednesday and a road loss to St. Michael-Albertville on Friday, the boys basketball team will try to get back in the win column when they host seventh-ranked Wayzata at the EPHS main gym. Game time is 7 p.m

    Wednesday, Jan. 25

    Wednesday’s only event brings the Eagles boys and girls Nordic ski teams to a multiple-school meet at Elm Creek Park Reserve in Maple Grove. Competition begins at 4 p.m.

    Thursday, Jan. 26

    The boys and girls Nordic ski teams will race for a second-straight day in a multiple-school meet at Baker Park Reserve in Maple Plain. Minnetonka High School is hosting the event, which is set to start at 4 p.m.

    The fourth-ranked Eagles wrestling team heads to Hopkins for a varsity match starting at 6 p.m. The team will also compete in a multiple-school quad hosted by the Royals, beginning at 7 p.m.

    The Eden Prairie girls hockey team, coming off their win over North Wright County on Saturday, will head north to Proctor/Hermantown to battle the Mirage. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.

    The Eagles boys hockey team fell short in a dramatic 3-2 decision to No. 2 Minnetonka on Saturday. They’ll host a tough Buffalo team Thursday at 7 p.m. at Eden Prairie Community Center.

    Friday, Jan. 27

    The start to a big sports weekend begins with the Eden Prairie boys swimming and diving team hosting Edina at Eden Prairie Community Center. The meet begins at 5:30 p.m.

    The Eagles boys basketball team hits their home court again on Friday, hosting North St. Paul. Opening tip is set for 7 p.m.

    Saturday, Jan. 28

    The Eden Prairie wrestling team will travel to Orono for a multiple-school meet. The first bout is slated for 9:30 a.m.

    The Eagles girls hockey team hosts Wayzata at Eden Prairie Community Center. The opening faceoff with the Trojans is at 3 p.m.

    The Eden Prairie boys hockey team faces off with the fifth-ranked Edina Hornets. Puck drop at Eden Prairie Community Center is set for 7:15 p.m.
