EPS kindergarten enrollment events in Nov.

Juliana AllenBy Juliana AllenOctober 28, 2022Updated:November 3, 20223 Mins Read

Parents of rising kindergarteners: it’s already time to start thinking about enrollment for the 2023-24 school year.

Eden Prairie residents with students starting kindergarten at Eden Prairie Schools (EPS) in Sept. 2023 are invited to attend open house events in November.

These events are an opportunity to meet principals, tour schools, learn more about enrollment in EP schools, and ask questions about the process. Virtual events will also be offered.

Children are welcome to accompany parents and guardians to the informational events. There will also be events specifically geared to parents only in January, incoming students in May, and kinder camp in August.

Although it may seem early to be getting started, Amy Arneson, EPS’ Welcome Center lead for K-12 enrollment, said, “We want families to enroll now so they can get connected early to the school community, be invited to the school events, and meet other families with students the same age.”

Enrolling now also helps the district plan ahead for staffing and classroom space. “It’s super important for our planning, and for them to get the most up-to-date information,” Arneson added.

    School and enrollment information

Families unsure of which school session they should attend can find their designated school on the kindergarten enrollment website. “Our ‘welcome to kindergarten’ page has lots of important information,” Arneson said.

The page also has links that explain how to enroll and what documents are needed, including proof of age for the child, immunization records or an immunization exemption form, and proof of address.
