By most measures, Eden Prairie is in a very strong position, headed in the right direction and is considered a leader among Minnesota communities. Our services (roads, snow plowing, parks, trails, water and sewer system), school system, low crime rates and low taxes contribute to a desirable quality of life for residents and businesses.
Kathy Nelson, serving four terms on the city council, has been an integral part of that record. She serves all groups, understands the obstacles that need to be overcome to achieve results, and has an evolving vision for the community. She provides valuable continuity in charting the path forward, avoiding backward or unproductive steps.
In addition to her long-term view for the city, Kathy brings a balanced approach to keeping services strong by ensuring the budget supports ongoing maintenance and upgrades, thereby avoiding elevated costs to bring them back from poor quality. Low taxes, compared metro-wide, are the visible result of her efforts.
As a 26-plus-year resident of Eden Prairie, Kathy served our community in leadership positions as a committee member and a volunteer. She participated in areas including transportation (SW Light Rail), communication (SW Suburban cable), charities (PROP, EP Community Foundation), planning (EP Planning Commission) and more. Her resume is unparalleled.
All of us in Eden Prairie have benefited from Kathy’s participation on the city council. Reelect her so she can continue to serve us.
Carl Borine, Eden Prairie
