    SWLRT construction update: Eden Prairie and Minnetonka

    Road and lane closures slated for late July and early August

    RAMP CLOSED sign, traffic barrels Hwy 212 / Shady Oak Rd

    Orange and white traffic barrels and “RAMP CLOSED” signs have been shoe-horned along the entire 14.5-mile alignment of the future Green Line Extension light rail trains.

    Here’s what to expect to and from our local cul-de-sac havens and work, dining, parks, business and shopping districts.

    EDEN PRAIRIE

    Prairie Center Drive
    . Expect southbound and northbound lane closures from Technology Drive to Singletree Lane through July. Crews will be advancing bridge work and laying tracks.
    . I-494 / Flying Cloud Drive Area
    . I-494 off-ramp to Flying Cloud Drive is closed through the construction season.
    . I-494 on-ramp from Flying Cloud Drive is open to northbound traffic.

    Flying Cloud Drive
    . Southbound traffic on Flying Cloud Drive will follow detour signs to I-494.
    . Flying Cloud Drive remains one lane in both directions between Town Center Place to Valley View Road.
    . Left turns in and out of Technology Drive at the Flying Cloud Drive intersection are not allowed.

    Shady Oak Road/Highway 212 area
    . Anticipate lane closures along Shady Oak Road between Flying Cloud Drive and Bryant Lake Drive the week of July 26.
    . Eastbound Highway 212 on-ramp from Shady Oak will be closed on Wednesday, July 28.
    . Eastbound Highway 212 off-ramp to Valley View Road is closed through Friday, July 23.
    . Westbound Highway 212 off-ramp to Shady Oak Road will remain closed into the fall.
    . Overnight Highway 212 lane closures which began on July 19, will continue through Wednesday, July 28. Lane closures start at 7:00 PM.

    Highway 62/City West Station/LRT tunnel/Shady Oak Road area
    Heavy construction work continues.
    . The eastbound Highway 62 on-ramp from Shady Oak Road is slated to be closed from about July 26 through August.
    . Anticipate lane closures along eastbound Highway 62 between Shady Oak Road and Highway 212.

    MINNETONKA: OPUS AREA

    . Green Circle Drive westbound near the intersection with Bren Road West is closed through the 2021 construction season.
    . Much of Blue Circle Drive is slated to close beginning Monday, August 2. This City of Minnetonka project is one of ten bridge replacements in Opus. This closure will impact traffic flow within the entire Opus area. Visit the City of Minnetonka website for more information.
    . Smetana Road from Feltl Road to Nolan Drive remains closed until later this summer. Local traffic can take a bypass east of the Smetana and Feltl intersection.
