120th Anniversary of the Wright Brothers First Flight – Free admission!

On Sunday, December 17, 2023, the Wings of the North Air Museum will celebrate the 120th anniversary of the First Flight by opening the museum to the public from 11am to 3pm for no admission charge!  In addition, the first 20 children age 12 or younger will receive a free toy airplane. 

The museum displays a 1/5th scale model of the Wright Flyer and will also be presenting a video about the Wright Brothers’ work.  In addition, there are displays from all eras of aviation with special emphasis on Minnesota’s rich aviation history including the full-size replica of the Spirit of St. Louis that was on display for many years in the main terminal of the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.  Three World War II aircraft are also on display including a P-51D Mustang that flew combat missions in Europe and a Boeing Stearman flown by George HW Bush while training in the Twin Cities in 1943!    

WOTN Air Museum hours are 11am to 3pm every Saturday and Sunday and it is available for private tours and parties at other times.  The museum is located at 14857 Pioneer Trail, Eden Prairie MN 55347 which is just inside Gate H on the northwest corner of Flying Cloud Airport.  Follow the instructions at the call box for entry to the airport and then follow the signs to the museum.
