Pax Christi Justice Speaker Series: Danielle Brady from Open Arms MN
Danielle Brady is the Senior Director of Volunteer Engagement at Open Arms of Minnesota. She has been working with traditionally marginalized populations experiencing poverty for over 20 years in the non-profit sector. Danielle has trained in the tri-state area (MN,WI, IA) on poverty, privilege, anti-racism, courageous and difficult conversations, communicating across difference, intent vs. impact, white saviorism and Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) basics. In her career in non-profits and especially in volunteer engagement, she has found nearly everything is rooted in systematic inequities, so both the biggest challenge and the greatest reward, comes in bridging the gap of understanding between your own privilege and the experiences of those less privileged. It is her passion to help people to better understand their own motivations, and more about people different than them by providing empathy and support with compassion.
