Live Well Health Series: Seven Brain Health Strategies
This program is designed for the aging adult who may have concerns about memory and cognition issues. The presentation reviews how the brain ages and cognitive impairment. A contrast is made between the signs and symptoms of typical aging and what is not normal aging. There is a discussion on the differences of dementias and Alzheimer’s disease. Harrie identifies seven strategies for protecting brain health as one ages. The strategies are evidence-based and can be applied to everyday living. Harrie Shearer is a retired health care professional and health science educator at the University of Minnesota and The Ohio State University with a passion for brain science and has done in-depth study and research on concussions, Alzheimer’s disease, brain aging, and advocacy for protecting brain health.
