Not only is this an incredibly fun event to attend—it’s one that has impact! This year, we are partnering with PWSA Minnesota, a Minnesotan chapter of the national non-profit organization that raises awareness and funds for research on one of the most misunderstood and difficult to deal with genetic disorders in our world. PWS, or Prader–Willi syndrome, is a rare genetic disorder caused by a loss of function of specific genes on chromosome 15, and one that effects one in 30,000 individuals with a wide variety of symptoms. Many individuals who have PWS encounter the life-altering symptom of hyperphagia, leading most to not be able to live an unassisted life.
