Kids Night Out (Your Night Off) at the Art Center

Leave the kids at the Art Center for tons of art-making fun while you take the night off. Kids are welcome in pajamas, day clothes or even a costume to spend an exciting time creating, getting messy and making new friends. Pizza is served at 6:30 p.m. and is included in the class fee. No experience necessary. All art supplies provided. Registration required.

Feb. 12, Nifty Knitting
Did you know you can knit without any needles? Join in the fun of discovering how to make knitted items with just your fingers! Once participants get a feel for the process, they can make whatever speaks to them. Possible projects include braided necklace or bracelet, a furry friend or even a snake, beautiful flowers, mini rug and more.

Feb. 26, Glass Flowers and Plants
Create vibrant, colorful plants for your home that will last no matter the weather. Participants choose from soft-edged glass pieces and assemble into bright flowers, cacti or plants that can sit on a shelf for display or even accompany a live potted plant. Must wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Completed projects available two weeks after class.

March 5, Painting with Yarn
Learn about the Huichol Indians of Mexico, who use beeswax, wood and yarn to make nierika paintings. Then, participants create their own work out of board, glue and yarn/recycled fabric for a stunning wall piece.

March 19, Radical Rainbows
Celebrate all things rainbow! Participants are shown a variety of rainbow inspired projects that brighten up any room, window or office. Possible projects include rainbow resist painting, paper stained glass, wind catcher and more.
