Kids Night Out (Your Night Off) at the Art Center
Leave the kids at the Art Center for tons of art-making fun while you take the night off. Kids are welcome in pajamas, day clothes or even a costume to spend an exciting time creating, getting messy and making new friends. Pizza is served at 6:30 p.m. and is included in the class fee. No experience necessary. All art supplies provided.
$30 fee. $25 per additional sibling. Extra $10 for day-of registration per student.
Jan. 14, Fused Glass- Photo Holder
Participants take inspiration from a variety of soft-edged glass pieces to build their own photo, card or postcard holder. Participants must wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Completed projects available 2 – 3 weeks after class.
Jan. 21, Make Your Own Comic
Learn the basics of storytelling, imagery from shapes and sequencing through writing your own comic. Each participant leaves with a story pairing images with text and the confidence to keep experimenting.
Feb. 4, Experimental Painting
Get silly and have fun trying out a variety of painting techniques such as abstract alcohol ink prints, melted crayon stained glass, floating chalk prints, pulled string art and more.
Feb. 25, Fused Glass- Funny Faces
The Art Center provides soft-edged glass pieces in a variety of colors and shapes. Participants combine them on glass bases to make their own silly faces. Hang up to bring some fun into any space. Must wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Completed projects available 2 – 3 weeks after class.
March 11, Cookies and Milk Cup
Cookies and milk are a perfect match, but they are even better when paired with a one-of-a-kind cup. Participants learn to use pinch, slab or coil techniques to create their very own food-safe clay cup. Fun colors can be added to the cup before firing. Completed projects available 2 – 3 weeks after class.
