Kids Night Out (Your Night Off) at the Art Center

Leave the kids at the Art Center for tons of art-making fun while you take the night off. Kids are welcome in pajamas, day clothes or even a costume to spend an exciting time creating, getting messy and making new friends. Pizza is served at 6:30 p.m. and is included in the class fee. No experience necessary. All art supplies provided.

$30 fee. $25 per additional sibling. Extra $10 for day-of registration per student. Registration required.

April 23, Spring Bouquet
Welcome the spring season with a colorful bouquet of long-lasting flowers. Possible methods used are tissue paper blossoms, batik on fabric, pinecone flowers and more.

May 7, Make a Kite
Add extra fun to days outside with a customized kite made from simple materials. Participants learn how to construct a basic kite and how the wind can send it soaring through the air.

May 21, Stamp, Stomp and Swirl
Get messy using washable paint, found objects, nature items and even your hands and feet to make stamped patterns on paper. Participants also learn color blending techniques to complete a small book of their explorations in paint that can be stored in a hand-decorated box.

June 11, Beeswax Candle Decoration
Using colored wax sheets, participants decorate their own taper candles to use for a special party or celebration. Please note that candles should only be lit by adults and burned under adult supervision.

June 25, Beach Party
Participants use a variety of materials to create an ocean-themed sensory bottle and fun painting.

July 16, Fused Glass- Funny Faces
The Art Center provides soft-edged glass pieces in a variety of colors and shapes. Participants combine them on glass bases to make their own silly faces. Hang up to bring some fun into any space. Must wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Completed projects available two weeks after class.

Aug. 6, Clay “Piggy” Bank
Learn all about clay through the creation of a fun and colorful container from your choice of theme. Participants experiment with clay techniques such as pinch, slab and coil to make a personalized bank for coins and bills. Completed projects available two weeks after class.

PLEASE NOTE
The Art Center continues to follow state and MDH guidelines for Covid-19 with some adjustments to keep our community thriving. Currently, we highly recommend that all individuals wear a face mask at all times indoors and if within 6 feet of others outdoors, even if vaccinated. If unvaccinated, please plan to wear a mask for the entirety of the program. Please bring your own mask or one will be provided.
