Girls in Aviation Day!
Girls in Aviation Day 2021 is almost here!
Taking place on Saturday September 25th from 10am to 3pm, the local Women in Aviation Chapter is hosting its annual “Girls in Aviation Day” event at Flying Cloud Airport, at the brand new Jet Linx hangar. The event is geared towards girls ages 8 to 17, but ALL are welcomed to attend! Bring your family, your group, your troop, your class!
This FREE event is a GREAT time for the community to come out and learn about the Aviation and STEM careers available in Minnesota and beyond!
Women make up only a small percentage of professional pilots in the aviation industry, and we are striving to help move that number higher! Our volunteers do a variety of types work in the industry in their own careers, thus showcasing the many opportunities available to our community, and we encourage you to come and learn about them.
Our event will have Pilots, Air Traffic Controllers, Engineers, Mechanics, Flight Attendants, Sales Staff, Customer Support Personnel, Flight Instructors, Aerobatic Pilots, and MORE for you to meet and learn how you can follow their paths.
There will be Educational Activities too, so you can see many principles of Physics and Flight in action!
Many types of exhibitor booths will be onsite, showcasing multiple career opportunities: local colleges and universities, flight schools, Military opportunities, General Aviation companies, Business and Corporate Aviation representatives, Air Lines, clubs, and more! Lots of areas covering the exciting STEM Careers – those in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
We will have food trucks on site with food for purchase; attendees are welcomed to bring their own food and drinks too – please no glass.
Preregistration for attendees and volunteers is available on the chapter website. We appreciate registration in advance to help us plan!
