Family Fun at the Art Center
Spend some quality family time together while learning new skills in a fun environment. No experience necessary. All supplies provided. Any registered youth ages 7 – 14 must have an enrolled adult with them. Both youth and accompanying adults must register and will create/take home projects. Jan. 28, Gesture Drawing- The Art of Movement
One of the best ways to learn to draw is through gesture drawing, which consists of quick, simple sketches of objects or people. Participants learn the fundamentals of drawing and apply their new skills while making silly movements together.
Feb. 11, Fused Glass- Winter Villages
Get into the spirit of the season by building one-of-a-kind winter village glass artwork that is fired in our wave mold to create a festive candle shade. Perfect for a gift or centerpiece. Participants must wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Completed projects available 2 – 3 weeks after class. Ages 9+ with adult only.
Feb. 25, Family Portrait- Polymer Clay
Play around with polymer clay and create a unique family portrait relief. Participants learn the basics of clay sculpting to make their own small, framed family artwork that they can take home to bake and enjoy for years to come.
March 11, Fused Glass- Fish in a Bowl
Create your own pet fish that never need feeding! Instructor-led demonstrations show participants how to cut and assemble their own small fish and sea plants from glass, stringers and frit to complete a fun fishbowl. Each participant gets enough supplies to make one 5 inch flat glass piece. Must wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Completed projects available 2 – 3 weeks after class. Ages 9+ with adult only.
March 18, Clay Day!
Discover the forms and functions of clay through the creation of a fun textured plate or tile. Colorful glazing allows for personal expression and creativity. All supplies provided; however, participants are encouraged to bring flat, textured item/s for imprinting, such as lace, leaves, flowers or stamps. Additional textured objects provided by the Art Center. Completed projects available 2 – 3 weeks after class.
