FAMILY FUN AT THE ART CENTER
Spend some quality family time together while learning new skills in a fun environment. No experience necessary. All supplies provided. Any registered youth ages 7 – 14 must have an enrolled adult with them. Both youth and accompanying adults must register and will create/take home projects. Family Fun glass offerings for ages 9+ with adult only. Register here.
Feb. 26, Tote Bag Printing
Learn how to use a foam block and paint to create cool designs or stamps to decorate a reusable tote bag. Use the new unique bag instead of plastic for groceries, carrying books and more.
March 12, Gesture Drawing – The Art of Movement
One of the best ways to learn to draw is through gesture drawing, which consists of quick, simple sketches of objects or people. Participants learn the fundamentals of drawing and apply their new skills while making silly movements together.
March 26, Felted Soap
Learn the basics of wet felting and create a unique eco-friendly gift or personal soap bar. Participants use colored wool to felt around pre-made soap. Once dry, the wool acts as an antimicrobial, gentle exfoliator that also makes the soap last longer and less slippery. Participants are welcome to bring their own soap, but it is not required.
The Art Center continues to follow state and MDH guidelines for Covid-19 with some adjustments to keep our community thriving. Currently, we ask that all unvaccinated individuals wear a face mask at all times indoors and if within 6 feet of others outdoors. Please bring your own mask or one will be provided.
If the cost of the program is prohibiting you from registering, please contact the Art Center supervisor, Jes Schrom, at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss fee options.
