Coffee & Conversation – Early Eden Prairie Hockey

EPR is pleased to announce that Eric ChristiansenDuane Hookom and others will discuss “Early Eden Prairie Hockey” at our next “Coffee and Conversation” on Saturday, March 25th at 10 AM. Stop by for some conversation or simply to tour the house.

The roots of hockey in Eden Prairie began in the mid-1960s in the backyards of various suburban tract developments springing up amongst the farm fields and on ponds and lakes as well. Neighborhoods like Kings Forest, Scenic Heights and Sterling Field. Eric’s backyard in Kings Forest was one of those, with a “massive” 48’ long rink, later expanded to all of 60’.

Learn how a small band of amateur hockey players petitioned for and ultimately brought into existence the modern day Eden Prairie Hockey Team.

“Coffee and Conversation” occurs at the Cummins-Phipps-Grill House, located at 13600 Pioneer Trail in Eden Prairie.
