ART AT THE SENIOR CENTER
All are welcome to attend these one-session classes designed for all skill levels. No experience necessary and all supplies provided. Register here.
Feb. 24, Get Drawing!
The basic fundamental of drawing is simply making marks on paper, but it can be an intimidating practice to explore. This class gets participants drawing while having fun with a variety of loose and lively games. Everyone leaves with several drawings and increased creativity and confidence.
March 10, Pastel Drawing- Cardinal
Learn basic gesture drawing, layering and blending using pastels to draw this classic winter bird from a photograph. Instructor provides step-by-step guidance in a welcoming and supportive environment. Each participant leaves with a completed pastel drawing and new skills to continue exploring.
March 31, Fused Glass- Garden Stakes
Bring a splash of color and light to your garden or plants with this fun glass workshop. Participants learn to design, cut, and create fused glass creations highlighting their favorite plants, garden creatures or flowers. Each participant is provided enough supplies to produce up to 3 fused glass pieces ranging in size from 2″ – 6″ that will attach to 6″- 12″ metal stakes. Finished artworks are perfect for display in gardens, potted plants or given as special gifts. Must wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Completed projects available for pick-up at the Senior Center two weeks after class.
