What you need to know

  • There is an election this year happening on November 8th 2022
  • In addition to national House of representative races, there are a number of Eden Prairie and Hennepin County specific races and issues.
  • The Eden Prairie Mayor is up for election.
  • Two Eden Prairie City Council seats are up for election.
  • Four Eden Prairie School Board seats are up for election. One additional School Board seat is on the ballot for a special election for a 2-year term to fill a seat vacancy that expires Jan. 6, 2025.
  • There is an Eden Prairie Schools tax referendum.
  • The Hennepin County Sheriff is up for election.
  • The Hennepin County Attorney is up for election.
  • MN State Senate District 49 (previously 48) seat is up for election.
  • MN House of Representatives District 49A (previously 48A) seat is up for election. This seat represents about half of Eden Prairie.
  • MN House of Representatives District 49B (previously 48B) seat is up for election. This seat represents the other half of Eden Prairie.
  • The District 3 Representative for the U.S. House of Representatives is up for election. This seat represents all of Eden Prairie.
  • The Governor and Lt. Governor of MN are up for election.
  • The MN Attorney General is up for election.
  • The MN Secretary of State is up for election.
  • The MN State Auditor is up for election.

Important Dates

  • August 9  – Primary Election
  • October 18 –  Deadline to pre-register to vote for general election
  • September 23 – Absentee/Early voting for general election begins 
  • November 1st-7th – Absentee/Early in-person direct ballot voting at Eden Prairie City Center
  • November 8 – General Election
