An Eden Prairie man has been charged with a gross misdemeanor for third-degree damage to property and disorderly conduct in an incident earlier this year at Eden Prairie High School (EPHS). On March 6, Eden Prairie police responded to a disturbance at EPHS and located Donald Wynn Williams II, 35, whom they had encountered previously. Williams had come to EPHS to pick up his sick child but was not permitted to enter the school. Electrify Everything is hosting a workshop on home electrification from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 28, at the Eden Prairie Community Center, 16700 Valley View Road. According to a press release, Electrify Everything is a Minnesota program to share ideas and promote home electrification within the Twin Cities area and beyond. Eden Prairie residents Lainey Donoghue and Sadie Maguire showcased their vocal abilities at the two-day Minnesota Sings State Final singing competition held earlier this month in Fairmont. Donoghue, aged 20, sang Queen’s “Somebody to Love” and earned fourth place in the 13 to 20 age division, winning a $500 prize. Maguire, 15, delivered a rendition of Demi Lovato’s “Anyone” and earned seventh place in the same age division. Carolyn Rebholz, 79, of The Villages, Florida, died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023. Carolyn was born in Valley City, North Dakota, to Albert and Bernice (Larson) Berge. Carolyn received a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Valley City State in North Dakota and a master’s degree in guidance and counseling from the University of Wisconsin, with post-graduate work in psychology from the University of Minnesota and Indiana University. Jahnavi Dari of Eden Prairie has been named to the board of directors of the Minnesota Academy of Science (MAS). Darji, who received her doctor of pharmacy degree from the University of Kansas in 2006, is a client formulary director at CVS Health. Dominic Francis Donato, also known as “Mick,” “Dom,” and “Papa Mick,” 94, most recently of Eden Prairie, passed away on Sept. 13, 2023, after a battle with dementia. Born on Sept. 7, 1929, Mick was raised in Connellsville, Pennsylvania, by Italian immigrant parents. He was a committed Christian, devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. The Wings of the North Air Museum is set to mark the 76th anniversary of Chuck Yeager’s historic breaking of the sound barrier with a “Sound Barrier Broken” party. The Eden Prairie Crime Prevention Fund will once again sell stuffed animals modeled after the police department’s K9s, Jax and Gus, at the Citywide Open House this Saturday. The event is scheduled for Oct. 7 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Eden Prairie City Center, 8080 Mitchell Road.
