Students from Eden Prairie High School’s (EPHS) Computer Science Honor Society (CSHS) are helping introduce elementary school students to computer science. Computer Science (CS) in the Schools is the club’s annual outreach initiative. This year, CSHS visited Prairie View Elementary and Eden Lake Elementary, and will be visiting Cedar Ridge Elementary later this month. At Eden Lake on Dec. 4, CSHS leaders explained to students what the club does. This Thursday, Dec. 7, the community is invited to shop for student-created artwork at PiM Arts High School’s Winter Art Market, visit its “In Progress” Gallery Show, then attend the Future in Fashion Show. “It’s a big arts day here at PiM,” said Rob Thompson, PiM’s director of communications and development. Students from Eden Prairie High School’s (EPHS) Class of 2024 and math teacher Jessica Brent were recently honored at an awards breakfast at the high school. At the Nov. 10 event, EPHS Principal Nate Gibbs and EP Schools Superintendent Josh Swanson gave welcoming remarks to the students, families, and staff who attended the event. Brent was then honored as this year’s Influential Educator, having been nominated by several of her computer science students. Eden Prairie High School’s orchestras will perform their Winter Concert at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 30, in the high school’s Performing Arts Center. Admission to the event is free, and the community is invited to attend. The concert will also be live-streamed at this link. When Eden Prairie High School’s (EPHS) Chamber Choir performs movements from George Frideric Handel’s “Messiah” at its winter concert on Tuesday, Dec. 5, the community is invited to attend — and participate.
