City continues to clear storm debris; yard waste site open Thursday

EPLN Staff ReportsBy EPLN Staff ReportsAugust 28, 20241 Min Read
Tree damage from the Aug. 26 storm, in a photo the City of Eden Prairie provided with its storm cleanup update on Wednesday.

City crews in Eden Prairie are working to clear widespread tree and branch debris left by Monday’s storm, prioritizing public areas such as roads, sidewalks, trails, and parks.

In an update provided Wednesday afternoon, the city announced that it will not be responsible for clearing yard waste from residential properties. Residents can report fallen debris on public property through the EP See Click Fix app or online.

To assist with storm cleanup efforts, the city’s yard waste site had been open Wednesday, Aug. 28, and will reopen again on Thursday, Aug. 29, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The facility is free to Eden Prairie residents and business owners.

Residents must bring a driver’s license or utility bill with an Eden Prairie address for proof of residency, and landlords or business owners must bring a utility bill or business card with an Eden Prairie address.

Details on regular yard waste site hours, usage guidelines, and accepted materials are available on the city’s website.
