    Eastbound I-494 lane closures and more …

    Light rail construction in Eden Prairie continues to affect local and regional traffic

    Southwest Light Rail project work sites in Eden Prairie remain busy. The following traffic alerts are based on updates issued by the project and the Metropolitan Council. Go to the project website here for the most recent alerts.

    Interstate 494 closures

    Bridge work over Interstate 494 will require staged closures over the next two weekends (Oct. 7-11 and 15-18).

    Eastbound I-494 lanes are slated for full closure between Highway 169 and Highway 212 from Friday, Oct. 8 at 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 11.

    Westbound I-494 lanes are slated for full closure between Highway 169 and Highway 212 from Friday, Oct. 15 at 10 p.m to 5 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 18.

    Reopenings

    Highway 62 has reopened between Shady Oak Road and Highway 212. Both eastbound lanes are open but westbound traffic remains restricted to one lane into November.

    The Shady Oak Road on-ramp to eastbound Highway 62 has reopened.

    The eastbound I‑494 on-ramp from Flying Cloud Drive is open.

    Ongoing

    The eastbound I-494 ramp to Flying Cloud Drive remains closed for the construction season.

    Traffic traveling westbound on Flying Cloud Drive should follow the posted detours to access eastbound I-494.

    Flying Cloud Drive is reduced to one lane in both directions between Town Center Place and Valley View Road.

    West 70th Street in the Golden Triangle remains closed to through traffic until mid-October. Access to local businesses remains open.

    The westbound Highway 212 off-ramp to Shady Oak Road will remain closed through the end of the construction season.

    Detour signs will be posted in all traffic affected light rail construction areas.
