On a Wednesday evening, I joined nine others to immerse ourselves in a transformative sound bath experience at Wellspring Health Center in Eden Prairie.

Founded in 2008, Wellspring Health Center offers a holistic approach to back, muscle, and joint pain, aiming to minimize reliance on pain medication and surgery whenever possible.

Nestled within this integrative medical and physical therapy clinic, I was greeted by the soothing tones of singing bowls, gongs, and harmoniums, promising a journey of relaxation and rejuvenation.

Led by Kristen Wertenberger, a former recording artist turned wellness advocate, the session commenced with a gentle introduction to the practice of sound baths.

As I settled onto a cozy mat adorned with the softest blankets, Kristen skillfully guided us through an hour-long exploration of sound and sensation. The journey ebbed and flowed, transitioning from resonant tones that enveloped the room to the rhythmic sounds of ocean waves, evoking a sense of serenity and calm.

Near the end of the hour, Kristen surprised us with a soulful guitar and singing solo, adding a delightful touch of melody to the immersive experience. Despite occasional minor discomforts from prolonged lying down or adjusting to the unfamiliar sensations of the sound bath, I found solace in the gentle embrace of the sounds. These fleeting discomforts served as a temporary contrast to the overall sense of relaxation and rejuvenation that the sound bath provided.

The ambiance of Wellspring Health Center provided the perfect backdrop for this harmonious journey. The spacious, clean environment offered a welcoming atmosphere, providing us with a sanctuary for relaxation and introspection. Kristen’s dedication to creating a comfortable, inclusive atmosphere was evident, ensuring that participants of all levels felt welcomed and supported throughout the experience. Supported by research highlighting the therapeutic benefits of sound therapy, Kristen envisions a future where sound baths become integral to holistic wellness routines.

With the reverberations of healing vibrations still lingering, I departed Wellspring Health Center feeling revitalized and empowered, motivated to cultivate a deeper connection to myself and the world around me.
