Eden Prairie police arrested a 43-year-old man Tuesday after a vehicle pursuit but are still searching for a stolen 2012 silver Chevrolet Malibu.

According to police, the Malibu was reported stolen at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 13 from the 8000 block of Glen Lane, where it had been left running outside a business. Witnesses reported seeing an adult man steal the vehicle after being dropped off by the driver of a black sedan.

Police quickly located the black sedan, which was reported stolen in Minneapolis on Feb. 12, and attempted a traffic stop. The driver fled onto eastbound Interstate 494, exited on northbound France Avenue, and was caught in traffic at West 78th Street in Edina.

Officers then performed a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver, a tactic where police gently tap the fleeing vehicle’s rear side to force it to stop, and disabled the vehicle.

The driver was arrested without incident, with no civilian vehicles damaged and no injuries reported.

The stolen 2012 silver Chevrolet Malibu remains missing.
