Eden Prairie Local News wishes everyone an enjoyable, restful and restorative Labor Day 2021.
The 6th of September, the unofficial last day of summer, began at Mitchell Lake with the promise of a beautiful day. Alex Strate, son of EPLN regular contributor Jeff Strate, began his day at the Mitchell Lake fishing dock in Miller Park.
Alex Strate took this picture at about 6:30 a.m. Earlier, he had caught and released two largemouth bass. A few northern pike, he said, also took interest but did not strike his lure.
The only other person visible during the early hours, Alex State said, was a watercraft inspector at the nearby boat launch. Given the weather, the invasive aquatic species inspector will likely be working hard this Labor Day.
