    Arlene Mary Brown

EPLN Staff ReportsBy EPLN Staff ReportsAugust 8, 20232 Mins Read

A funeral service for Eden Prairie resident Arlene Mary Brown, who died on April 28 at Hope Hospice in Bonita Springs, Florida, is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 19, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 16515 Luther Way, Eden Prairie.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., followed by the service at 11 a.m.

She loved being in Florida’s warm weather during the winter months, but Eden Prairie has always been her home. Arlene loved her family and friends; spending time at the family cabin; puttering in the yard (especially the flowers — her favorite were lilacs); seeing plays at the Guthrie; listening to Christian singers and groups who performed in the Gaither Concerts; playing cards; and enjoying holidays with the family.

Born and raised here in Eden Prairie, she was the daughter of Ella Redner and James (Elmer) Moran. She married Robert H. Brown (also of Eden Prairie) on Sept. 15, 1956.

Survivors include her two sons, Steve (Karen) of Minocqua, Wisconsin, and Bob (Carrie) Claus of Eden Prairie; her grandchildren Tyler (Eau Claire, Wisconsin), Eric (Minocqua, Wisconsin), Amanda (Casey) (Minocqua, Wisconsin), Blake (Waseca, Minnesota), Catherine-McKenzie (Worcester, Massachusetts), Connor (Anna) (Milwaukee, Wisconsin), and Ethan (Shantel) (Eau Claire, Wisconsin); as well as great-grandchildren Oscar, Elsie, and McKenzie (Minocqua, Wisconsin). She is also survived by her brother James (Betty) of Eden Prairie, sister Judy Ginder of Arizona, and brothers-in-law Gordon Englund and Sam Mason, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her. Her grandchildren will now have a chance at winning card games!

Preceding her in death were her husband, Bob; her parents; mother-in-law, Louise Tessmer Brown Mitchell; brothers Russ and Robert; sisters Beaulah and Sandy; and brothers-in-law John Welk and Gary Ginder.
