Cities launch Electrify Everything MN campaign to reduce home energy use

EPLN Staff ReportsBy EPLN Staff ReportsApril 11, 20232 Mins Read

Eden Prairie, in partnership with Edina, Minneapolis, and St. Louis Park, has launched the Electrify Everything MN campaign to help residents reduce their home energy use and transition to clean and renewable energy sources.

According to the City of Eden Prairie, significant progress has been made in cutting carbon emissions from energy production in Minnesota. The campaign educates residents about transitioning from gas-powered appliances to electric-powered options.

Residents of Eden Prairie and the other cities can attend free workshops in May to learn more about reducing home energy use and transitioning to clean and renewable energy sources.

The workshops will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, at the Edina Public Works Building, 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, at the St. Louis Park Public Library, and 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 15, at the Eden Prairie Community Center. Residents can register to attend any of the workshops at ElectrifyEverythingMN.org.

The workshops will provide information on high-efficiency electric heating/cooling systems and appliances. Residents can also learn to access grants, tax credits, and rebates to help pay for home energy projects.

The Electrify Everything MN campaign will be at local events in each community this spring and summer to answer questions and provide more information to residents.

A second round of workshops is also scheduled for the fall.

For more information and to register for a workshop, visit ElectrifyEverythingMN.org.
