Eden Prairie High School’s boys lacrosse team secured a 12-6 victory over Rosemount in the Section 6A semifinals Monday night at Aerie Stadium.
The No. 2-seeded Eagles, now 12-2 and ranked fourth in the state, jumped to a 4-0 lead in the first quarter and maintained control throughout a game delayed 1 hour and 36 minutes by lightning.
Junior attackers Brady Palmer and Oscar Berggren scored three goals apiece. Senior midfielder Braden Cole and his younger brother, freshman Logan Cole, added two goals each. Senior Johnny Kleis and junior Carson Stidger also scored.
With the win, Eden Prairie advances to face top-seeded Edina (14-1), the state’s No. 1-ranked team, in the Section 6A championship game Wednesday afternoon at Edina High School. The early game time accommodates Eden Prairie’s graduation ceremony that evening at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
The teams last met on May 8, when Edina won 10-4. The winner of Wednesday’s game earns a berth in the Minnesota State High School League state tournament.
