Beverly Joan “Bev” Bren, of Eden Prairie, born Sept. 22, 1934, died peacefully at age 90 on May 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Olivia Honer; her husband, Richard; her infant son, Jimmy; and her sisters, Betty Hoffman, Ruth Roessler and Shirley Weil.

Bev graduated from Rochester High School in 1952 and the University of Minnesota in 1956. She taught kindergarten in the Edina School District for more than 30 years.

Bev loved playing bridge and belonged to many card clubs over the years. She also enjoyed traveling – by car, plane, ship or bus – throughout the United States, Canada and Europe, and spending time at her children’s cabins on Lakes Ida and Vermilion.

Her greatest joy was time spent with family, especially her adored granddaughters and great-grandchildren.

Bev is survived by her daughter, Joni (Ralph) Teschner; her son, Jerry (Loree) Bren; her granddaughters, Krissi (Kevin) Green, Lauren (Brad Boldenow), Alyssa (fiancé Adam Kneepkens) and Jenny (Ryan) Hatch; her great-grandchildren, Grace and Robbie Green; her sister, Jan (John) Shaffer; her brother-in-law, Bruce (Kaye) Bren; her sister-in-law, Barb Eigen; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

The family wants to give special thanks to the entire staff at Trouvaille Memory Care in Excelsior for their amazing and loving care of Bev over the past few years, and to Grace Hospice for their support in her final weeks.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to BeneTrou (Trouvaille), 6330 Hazeltine Blvd., Excelsior, MN 55331.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Faith Presbyterian Church, 12007 Excelsior Blvd., Minnetonka, with visitation one hour prior and a luncheon to follow. Inurnment will take place at Faith Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Beverly Bren, please visit the Sympathy Store. Arrangements are with Washburn-McReavy.
