Cwodzinski, a DFL member, represents Senate District 49, which encompasses Eden Prairie and the northern portion of Minnetonka.

The League of Minnesota Cities selects legislators for the honor based on specific actions that aided Minnesota cities during the past year’s legislative session.

In its announcement, the League said, “Throughout the legislative session, Sen. Cwodzinski consulted League staff on a myriad of key city issues and provided constant communication with local elected officials in cities within his district. He worked to understand issues impacting his cities and made intra-caucus efforts to make local issues and the city position on the issues well known.”

Award winners will receive a letter of appreciation and a certificate. A copy of the acknowledgment letter will also be sent to the mayor of each city in the legislator’s district.
