A 22-year-old Minneapolis man is accused of using a stolen credit card to buy a handgun from an Eden Prairie firearms dealer, then selling it to a pawn shop.
Devantae Lanell Moore was charged July 15 in Hennepin County District Court with felony financial transaction card fraud. The charge stems from a March 2023 purchase at Arnzen Arms, located at 12494 Plaza Drive.
According to the criminal complaint, Moore used another person’s credit card to buy a Century Arms AP5 9mm pistol valued at $1,344.06. The cardholder later reported the charge as fraudulent.
Moore picked up the firearm in person, completing the required paperwork and presenting valid identification, police said. Investigators later determined he had sold the gun to a pawn shop.
Moore is scheduled to make his first court appearance Aug. 5 at the Hennepin County Public Safety Facility in Minneapolis.
