The old Mister Car Wash on Flying Cloud Drive will be demolished to make way for a new Veridian Credit Union.
On Tuesday night, the Eden Prairie City Council unanimously approved the project with little debate. The Planning Commission had recommended approval to the council last month.
The credit union will be one story and 1,890 square feet, with a two-lane drive-through. One lane will have an ATM for customer use.
Andrea Hudnut, Veridian’s public relations strategist, said the credit union is still finalizing a construction timeline and does not yet know when work will begin. She said construction could begin shortly after the council gives its final approval later this year.
Veridian already has one location in Eden Prairie, on Old Shady Oak Road, which will continue operating as normal, said Nathan Ziwicki, a project designer with the Redmond Group working on the project. Once construction is complete, the Flying Cloud location will become Veridian’s primary Eden Prairie branch.
City officials say redeveloping the vacant lot will boost Eden Prairie’s commercial tax base.
