Two men are facing felony charges after allegedly stealing more than $30,000 worth of merchandise from a store in the 9700 block of Valley View Road in Eden Prairie earlier this month.

According to criminal complaints filed July 7 in Hennepin County District Court, Tommy Junior Clinton, 37, of St. Paul, and Angelo Maurice Wagner Jr., 36, of Minneapolis, entered the store on the morning of July 3, filled bags with merchandise, and left without paying.

Store employees reported a loss of $31,086.70.

Both men are charged with felony theft for allegedly taking property without consent and intending to permanently deprive the owner. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.

As of Sunday, both men remained in custody at the Hennepin County Jail. Clinton’s bail is set at $20,000. Wagner, who was initially held on $40,000 bail, remains jailed on multiple warrants and felony holds from other jurisdictions.

Clinton also faces pending felony charges in Minneapolis, including burglary and mail theft.

Wagner has open cases in four counties – Hennepin, Dakota, Scott and Wright – with charges that include fleeing police, theft and drug possession.

Clinton is scheduled for an omnibus hearing July 17. Wagner’s hearing is set for Aug. 5.
