Ten men face felony charges after an undercover operation in Eden Prairie on June 23, during which authorities say the suspects believed they were arranging to pay for sex with a teenage girl.
The sting – led by Eden Prairie police and supported by the multi-agency 494 Corridor Group – involved officers from Bloomington, Edina, Maple Grove, Minnetonka, Plymouth, Richfield and the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators posted online ads and directed respondents to a predetermined location in Eden Prairie, where arrests were made.
The city described the operation as part of an ongoing human trafficking crackdown.
According to criminal complaints, the suspects believed they were meeting a 16- or 17-year-old girl. No actual minors were involved.
The following individuals have been charged with felony prostitution-related offenses:
- Angel David Agustin, 25, Bloomington
- Thai Lor, 24, St. Paul
- Eduardo Solis-Perez, 31, South St. Paul
- Abdullahi Yussuf Sheikh Nur, 45, Eden Prairie
- Roberto Carlos Geronimo, 23, Brooklyn Center
- Mohammad Reza Pourmand, 44, Burnsville
- Said Rahman Amanzai, 42, La Crosse, Wisconsin
- Jose Isaias Perdomo Elias, 26, Inver Grove Heights
- Ross Orren Nordean, 24, Burnsville
- Alex Joseph Zamarripa, 32, St. Paul
An 11th man – a 41-year-old from Orono – has been charged by summons with a felony, but a Hennepin County Attorney’s Office spokesperson said the case remains under review.
Nine of the charged individuals were booked into the Hennepin County Jail. Zamarripa and the Orono man were charged via summons and were not jailed.
A 12th man – a 36-year-old from Shakopee – was also arrested during the operation. His case was reviewed and referred to the City Attorney’s Office for possible gross misdemeanor charges.
“It was determined on review that the details of the case were more appropriate for gross misdemeanor charges rather than felony charges,” a spokesperson for the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office said.
The felony charge – prostitution involving a person reasonably believed to be 16 or 17 – carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine under Minnesota law. All 11 men facing felony charges are scheduled to appear in court this summer.
Since 2016, Eden Prairie detectives have participated in 38 similar sting operations. According to city officials, these efforts have led to more than 400 arrests and allowed police to connect with over 100 potential victims, offering access to safe housing, treatment programs, and job and life skills support.
