U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) congratulated Grace Cutting of Eden Prairie, who will attend the United States Naval Academy after being nominated by the senator.
Cutting is one of 21 Minnesota students nominated by Klobuchar who accepted appointments to the Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, or U.S. Military Academy at West Point. The students were selected after a highly competitive application process.
“Each year it is my honor to nominate some of Minnesota’s most talented and skilled young people, like Grace, to attend our service academies,” Klobuchar said. “I’m confident that Grace will make our state proud as she continues the long tradition of Minnesotans answering the call to serve our nation.”
To be considered for a nomination, candidates should have a strong academic background, participation in school and community activities, a high standard of physical fitness, and a desire to be challenged to the fullest.
Potential applicants can review specific requirements and apply for a nomination at the senator’s website.
