Manning Robert Wegner, age 27, of Eden Prairie, passed away unexpectedly from a cardiac event on June 12, 2025. Though his departure was sudden, he was surrounded by family and friends and passed peacefully, wrapped in love.

Manning is now gently reunited with his beloved sister, Madeline, whose memory he held close to his heart since her passing in 2018. Their bond, unbroken by time, is now held in peace and love.
He is remembered with deep love by his mother, Lisa Langner Orfield (Mark) of Edina, and his father, Eric Wegner (Cindy) of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. He was a cherished brother to Marlena Banks (Colton) and Maxwell Wegner, and a loving stepbrother to Gabrielle (Joseph), Mandy (Luke), Bryan (Kim) and Kami (Jake).
He shared a deeply meaningful and loving relationship with his significant other, Montgomery DeZelar, who was a constant source of joy and strength in his life.
Manning was a kind and compassionate soul – warm, creative, and full of light. His beautiful smile, generous heart, and quiet strength touched everyone who knew him. Whether through a laugh, a thoughtful gesture, or simply his calming presence, he brought people together and made the world gentler just by being in it. He found great joy in his work at Pinstripes, where his love of food and commitment to exceptional service left a lasting impression on all those who were fortunate to be served by him.
A celebration of Manning’s life will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, at Gill Brothers Funeral Chapel, 5801 Lyndale Ave. S., Minneapolis. Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by a short service. He will be laid to rest at Lakewood Cemetery at a later date.
Though we mourn his loss deeply, we carry Manning’s spirit with us – in the love he gave, the lives he touched, and the light he leaves behind.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a cause that Manning took great pride in – the preservation of Fredrick Miller Spring in Eden Prairie. Contributions in his memory will help protect the natural beauty and legacy of a place he deeply cherished. A GoFundMe account was created in his honor and can be found here.
