Eden Prairie girls lacrosse avenged a regular-season loss to Chanhassen with a 13-9 road win Thursday night in a Section 2A quarterfinal played at Chanhassen High School.
The sixth-seeded Eagles (3-11), who had fallen 11-9 to the third-seeded Storm (5-13) on May 12, reversed the result in their postseason rematch. With the win, Eden Prairie advances to Saturday’s 1 p.m. semifinal, where it will face the winner of Thursday night’s game between No. 2 Minnetonka (9-4) and No. 7 Mound Westonka (8-6). The semifinal will be hosted by the higher seed.
Trailing 6-5 in the third quarter, the Eagles tied the game at 6-6 with 4:03 left, then erupted for four more goals in just over two minutes to take a 10-6 lead by the 1:52 mark.
Junior attacker Sara David led the Eagles with four goals. Senior midfielder Macey Haase added three, while sophomores Claire Solie and Kelsey Pottinger each scored twice. Paige Reisdorf and Lyla Stidger chipped in one goal apiece.
All six goal scorers also played on the Eden Prairie High School girls hockey team this past winter.
