

Eden Prairie softball defeated Waconia 5-1 on Thursday in the first round of the Class 4A, Section 2 championship bracket at Miller Park.
With the win, the No. 3-seeded Eagles (13-8) advance to face No. 2 Minnetonka (17-4) in a semifinal game at noon Friday, also at Miller Park. The Skippers advanced with a 5-2 win over Shakopee earlier Thursday.
The winner of the Eden Prairie-Minnetonka semifinal will face either No. 1 Bloomington Jefferson (19-1) or No. 4 Chanhassen (13-5), who play at noon Friday at Miller Park.
The championship bracket final is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, also at Miller Park. Full brackets are available on the Minnesota State High School League website.
