Eva Potvin has been named the new head coach of the Eden Prairie High School boys swim and dive team, the school’s athletic department announced Monday.

Potvin replaces Sam Kendall, who recently stepped down from the position. She has served as the team’s assistant coach for the past two seasons and is also head coach of the Eden Prairie girls swim and dive team.
“I am incredibly honored and excited to continue working with this team as head coach,” Potvin said. “By accepting this position, I am starting a new phase in my journey working with this immensely talented team. Having had the privilege to learn and grow alongside them as an assistant coach for the past two seasons, I’m getting ready to collaborate, lead, and help this exceptional group of athletes.”
An alumna of Hill-Murray High School and the State University of New York at Oswego, Potvin competed as a varsity swimmer and team captain at both schools. She minored in athletic coaching at SUNY Oswego and has coached competitive swimming for nearly a decade.
“Eva has always brought incredible energy, passion, and dedication to the pool, and now she’s stepping into a leadership role where she can make an even bigger impact,” said assistant activities director Marissa Brandt. “With her strong focus on technique, motivation, and personal growth, Eva creates a positive, team-centered environment where swimmers can thrive.”
Potvin is currently pursuing a master’s degree in psychology and counseling services at St. Mary’s University of Minnesota. Outside of coaching, Potvin enjoys music, spending time outdoors, and being with loved ones.
