In recognition of Bereaved Mother’s Day, observed on May 4 – the weekend before Mother’s Day – the Eden Prairie-based Star Legacy Foundation is collaborating with greeting card retailer Moonpig to launch a charity collection of cards created specifically for parents who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth or infant loss.
The limited edition collection of cards is available free of charge (postage fees still apply). It includes a range of designs created by hand in watercolor by a Star Legacy Foundation staff member who has experienced loss herself.
The card designs feature a soothing purple night sky motif with golden stars, as well as delicate flowers and dragonflies symbolizing remembrance and spiritual growth.
“Grieving families often tell us how much it means just to be acknowledged and for their babies to be remembered,” said Dr. Lindsey Wimmer, founder and executive director of Star Legacy Foundation. “We’re incredibly grateful for Moonpig’s compassion, creativity and generosity in bringing the perfect solution in these cards to life, as well as helping raise awareness and support through this collaboration.”
Moonpig is also making a $10,000 donation to the Star Legacy Foundation to help fund its work in research, education and bereavement support. Star Legacy Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to healthy pregnancy outcomes and stillbirth prevention.
