The K-Pop Dance Club, an Eden Prairie High School student-led group that celebrates and represents Korean media and music, focuses on having fun while learning.

The club hosts weekly meetings where members learn choreography for everything from classic K-pop hits to the latest trending songs. Led by Meghanaambika Achyutuni, Mawaahib Nuuh, and Sonakshi Gajawada, it welcomes dancers of all skill levels, making it easy for anyone to master K-pop moves and enjoy the energy of this global phenomenon.

The high school will host its Winter Pep Fest on Friday, Feb. 7, where the K-Pop Dance Club will perform for the entire student body. This marks the club’s first performance at a mandatory school-wide event, as previous performances, such as those at both the 2023 and 2024 Passport to Pop Culture celebrations organized by the school’s equity and inclusion Dare 2 Be Real student leadership organization, were optional for attendees.

The Eden Prairie High School K-Pop Dance Club performed for other students at the April 2024 Passport 2 Pop Culture celebration. Submitted video

K-Pop Dance Club participants in the upcoming Winter Pep Fest performance include Sonakshi Gajawada, Mawaahib Nuuh, Dalena Vongxay, Anjolaoluwa Raimi, Duretti Jurru, Halle Do, Mira Jama, Seham Mohamed, and Kingo Sarcos. The group will perform a set featuring “Debut” by Katseye, “Cupid” by FIFTY FIFTY, and “Walk” by NCT 127.
