    EPLN OBITUARIES

Walter F. “Walt” Broich IV, 54, of Eden Prairie, passed away on Nov. 16, 2024.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tina Broich (née Lange); sons, Hayden and Joe; stepbrother, Jeff McCall; and his father’s wife, Darci Broich. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Rita Lange; sisters-in-law, Stephanie Thiele and Melissa Lange; many special aunts, uncles, and cousins; and numerous remarkable longtime friends, business partners, and customers.

Walt was preceded in death by his father, Walter Broich III; his mother, Jan Sterzinger; his former wife, Beth Broich; and his stepbrother, Mark McCall.

Walt grew up in Robbinsdale and graduated from Cooper High School. He earned degrees from the University of Minnesota Duluth and Northwestern Chiropractic College. Walt proudly worked alongside his father at Arctic Air in Eden Prairie before becoming the owner in 2022.

He loved the outdoors, including snow skiing, hockey, football, and boating on Lake Minnetonka, to name just a few of his interests. He went on many international hunting trips with friends and family and most recently built a family cabin on the Chippewa River in Wisconsin.

Walt was very active in his sons’ sports and helped coach their hockey and football teams. He had a sense of humor unique to him – a quiet, lovable man and a master of the grill who enjoyed feeding guests and his hungry teenage sons. He cherished having the house full of family, friends, and teenagers.

His two sons, Joe and Hayden, were his pride and joy.

Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, concluding with a short memorial service at 2:15 p.m. at Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel, 5000 W. 50th St., Edina. A reception will follow from 3 to 6 p.m. at Olympic Hills Golf Club, 10625 Mount Curve Road, Eden Prairie.
