PROP Food Shelf seeks support on Give to the Max Day

EPLN Staff ReportsBy EPLN Staff ReportsNovember 9, 2024Updated:November 10, 20241 Min Read

Nov. 21 is Give to the Max Day in Minnesota, an annual event to celebrate and support the state’s many nonprofits.

PROP Food Shelf is asking people to donate to help meet the needs of neighbors struggling with food and financial insecurity this fall. Thanks to a generous donor, all donations made during the 2024 Give to the Max campaign will be matched up to $25,000.

“Now is a great opportunity to double your gift for an even greater impact,” said Matt Demote, PROP’s development director.

PROP has seen an increase in the number of people seeking assistance this year. It currently serves over 200 households each week in its Food Mart, and the number of food visits has increased by 22% over last year. The amount of food distributed by PROP is up 17% over last year, reaching nearly 800,000 pounds.

PROP Food Shelf is a registered 501(c)(3) organization that provides nourishment and comprehensive support to Eden Prairie and Chanhassen residents facing financial, housing, or employment insecurity.
